Weidener Sommerserenaden

The Weidener Sommerserenaden – music in the park!

Nowadays, it’s hard to imagine the Weiden events calendar without the traditional Weidener Sommerserenaden. Ever since the opening ceremony for Max-Reger-Park in 1953, they have been hugely popular and attract diverse audiences.

Each summer from mid-June to early August, artists and music groups fill Max-Reger-Park with superb music. Every Wednesday evening starting at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoon from 4 p.m., a small pavilion in the idyllic park serves as an open-air stage for various bands, orchestras, and ensembles, as well as dance groups and performers in traditional costume.

There is something to suit everyone’s taste: the repertoire includes rock’n’roll, pop, swing, Latin, funk, and country music, as well as music from the ’20s to the ’40s all the way to hits from the years of the economic miracle, percussion, Dolce Vita, and folk music.
