Purposes of and legal basis for the processing of personal data

The purpose of the processing of the data is to perform the official tasks assigned to us by the legislature, and particularly that of informing the public. The legal basis for the processing of your data ensues from Art. 4(1) of the Bavarian Data Protection Act (BayDSG) in conjunction with Art. 6(1) subpara. 1, lit. e) of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) unless otherwise specified. Accordingly, we are allowed to process the data necessary for us to perform a task which falls to us.

If necessary, your data will be sent to the competent supervisory and auditing authority to exercise their respective supervisory powers.

To prevent IT security risks, in the case of electronic transmission data can be forwarded to the Landesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (Bavarian State Office for Security in Information Technology) and processed there based on Art. 12 ff of the Bavarian eGovernment Act (BayEGovG)).

Logging

Every time you visit our website, our provider (Hetzner Online GmbH) automatically stores certain data. These include the IP address, type and version of the browser used, time, date, and the website from which the user accessed our website, for example. The IP address is stored for 7 days and then anonymized. It can then no longer be linked to a specific person. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1) lit. f) GDPR.

We use active components like Javascript, Java applets, or ActiveX controls. You can deactivate this function by changing your browser settings.

Cookies

We do not set or use cookies.

Evaluation of user behavior (web tracking systems; measuring reach of web audience) 

To tailor the design of our website to our needs, we use the web analytics tool Matomo. This compiles user statistics based on anonymous user data (hash values of the operating system, browser, browser plugin, anonymized IP address, and browser language). No cookies are set and no personal data are used whatsoever. The city of Weiden operates Matomo directly without changing the server, so no third-party provider is involved.

Use of Bayern Reisen & Service GmbH’s online booking tool.

To enable online bookings of accommodation services and other travel services and to process inquiries, our online presence uses the online booking tool (hereinafter referred to as “OBT”) of Bayern Reisen & Service GmbH, Im Gewerbepark D 33, 93059 Regensburg (www.bayern-reisen-service.de, hereinafter referred to as “BRSG”).  In the context of the OBT, the BRSG processes the data as the controller.
