Arriving by car/bus/RV
Weiden has easy access to transport routes and is located on two freeways (A93 - Weiden - Regensburg - Munich, and the European A6 Paris - Prague interchange , which lies 20 km (12.5 miles) to the south of Weiden). So it’s easy and straightforward to reach Weiden by car.
Weiden is also connected to the federal highways B22 Bayreuth - Weiden - Cham, and B470 Weiden - Auerbach - Forchheim.
Parking lots, parking garages, and RV site
All public parking lots and parking garages are located outside of the romantic Old Town. The historical center of Weiden, particularly with its streets and squares like Oberer/Unterer Markt, Schulgasse, Türlgasse, Wörthstraße, and Max-Reger-Straße, is a pedestrian zone.

Arriving by train
For its visitors and eco-friendly locals who like traveling by train, Weiden offers good connections to the big cities in Bavaria and the main German cities. It’s also easy to take the train into the neighboring country of the Czech Republic.
Weiden’s station is also included in the pedestrian system, which guides visitors who arrive in the city to the most important places. The historical Old Town lies around 500 m (0.3 miles) from the station.

Arriving by plane
The large airports, which standard and charter flights reach a multitude of destinations through every day, are located close by in Nuremberg and Munich. Thanks to its easy access to transport routes, visitors from all over the world can easily reach Weiden by air.
Due to the short distance between Nuremberg and Weiden (around 115 km (71.5 miles)), Nuremberg Airport is important for vacationers from Weiden, with about 50 direct connections and connecting flights to 300 other destinations worldwide. The excellent rail connection from the Airport via Nuremberg Central Station takes passengers to Weiden in around one and a half hours. The route by car follows the freeways A3, A6, and A93 Nuremberg-Weiden and takes just over an hour.
Munich Airport is approximately 28 km (17.4 miles) northeast of Munich and can be reached from all European airports and from over 300 intercontinental destinations. It takes passengers around two and a half hours by train to travel the short distance from Munich to Weiden, the city of Max Reger. By car, it takes vacationers to Weiden one hour 45 minutes on the freeways A92 and A93 (around 190 km (118 miles)).
